EFS acquires a clearance badge at Heathrow

In July EFS developed its import department and brought Heathrow clearances in house with the acquisition of
a UK HMRC customs badge, meaning all air freight clearances are electronically cleared at Farnborough HQ.

As part of this growth strategy we welcome Garry Small in to the role as dedicated import manager, bringing
a wealth & years of experience with him.

With ex Customs experience in our import department and as a Customs broker we are fully versed in regulations,
procedures, tariff classifications and preferential tariffs as well as bonded goods procedures and IPR/OPR,
and all relevant CPC codes.

A seemless and quality clearance process is critical to importing companies who want to manage supply chain costs
and ensure the correct tariff codes are applied to clearances so duty levels are correct, in a timely manner.

Import shipments are monitored and managed to minimise delay regarding duty and VAT payments through our UK
HMRC deferment account to clear customs quickly or with an importer’s own deferment account, minimising the
chance of any demurrage being applied to shipments.

Outside of Heathrow, clearances are controlled by EFS and given to affilicate partners to key in to the local
UK airport or UK port of arrival.

EFS imports regularly for clients across the UK as part of their supply chain strategies from China and Taiwan,
as well as simply providing local customs brokerage services to importer’s in the UK where EFS is the nominated
and preferred customs broker.

  • EFS exports landing gear for a C-130 Hercules

EFS has recently shipped a C130 Hercules nose landing gear under tight time constraints to Montreal airport. Due to the height of the packed cargo it required a freighter aircraft solution as well as additional screening being too big to fit a conventional xray machine. The customs entry required compliance to an export licence.
